Into the Milky Way

According to many indigenous cosmologies from all over the world, when our human bodies take the last breath, the next journey we take is across the milky way.

This toolkit was created with caregivers and end-of-life/death doulas in mind, but is equally helpful for caring humans seeking something physical and tangible they can do to provide care and nurturance to the dying.

The formulas included in the kit were developed based on the elemental withdrawal that happens during the dying process, as explained in The Tibetan Book of the Dead. In Buddhism, this process is known as the dissolution of the elements.

For families and caregivers, coming to terms with a loved one dying often brings up big emotions, which can lead to feeling unsure of what to do or how to help.
